Africa Cup of Nations Trophy
DESCRIPTION

The African Cup of Nations, officially the Total Africa Cup of Nations (name linked to the sponsor) and sometimes abbreviated as CAN, is the most important African football competition between nations . Created in 1957 , it is organized by the African Football Confederation (CAF) every two years.

From 2013, the CAN continues to take place every two years, but it is organized in odd years to avoid it being played in the same year as the FIFA World Cup 2 .

The title of African football champion is held by Algeria , victorious in the 2019 edition. Egypt is the first African nation to have won the continental trophy three times in a row (victories in the final against Côte d'Ivoire in 2006 , against Cameroon in 2008 and against Ghana in 2010 ).
